Sri Mahalasa Shikshana Samithi ®, Mangaluru, was established in the year 1978, under the leadership and guidance of Secretary Sri A. S. Chandrakeerthi Jain and Director Sri Babu Rao. The Mahalasa College of Visual Art provides graduation courses in the field of Visual Art. It is also affiliated to Mangalore University. It offers a full-time 4 year Bachelors of Visual Arts (BVA) course in Painting and Applied Art.

Mahalasa College of Visual Arts organized Indian Traditional And Folk Art Workshop 2020 in college campus between 13-01-2020 to 19-01-2020. Many students and participants have participated in the workshop and learned traditional and folk art skills in the process.
