The applied art is a subject which assumes forms of communication through media which are subject to technical economic and social controls. Emphasis is laid on the development of temperament to a collective effort. The new technologies of printing and use of computer as a visual problem solver have all opened up endless avenues.
The objective training is focus on development of creative ability and professional skills through study of subjects such as Drawing, Graphic design, Photography, Illustration, Traditional art and subsidiary subjects such as History of Art & Ideas, Visual Communication, Advertising Art and Ideas as theory subjects.
The Head of the Applied Art Department is B.P.Mohan Kumar. The faculty at Applied Art Department includes Syed Asif Ali, B.P.Mohan Kumar, K.T.Nagaraju, Umesh V.M as well as visiting faculty Ashalatha and Shashi Praveen.
