
The foundation course is a one-year intensive course at the 1st year level of Bachelor of Visual Art degree course. The course is common to the students specializing in painting and applied arts (for BVA course). The course introduces introductory subjects related to painting and applied art which are to be studied in depth in subsequent year toward BVA degree course.
The subjects include Drawing, 2D design, still life, 3D design (Clay modeling), Print making, Color, Geometry and Perspective, Methods and materials, Exercises in form. All these courses are designed to promote visual and texture sensitivity, formal perception and instill artistic mindset for subsequent specialization course. The fundamental principles of visual and design experience studies in foundation course will prepare students to learn specialization course in painting and applied art.
