The painting specialization is comprehensive, in depth study of principles of composition, value, pattern, tone and color theories. Emphasized is placed on creative process from concept to the finished art work. Focus also to the exposure to study from life, outdoor, drawing, portrait, computer & digital art and experimental art. Aesthetic, History of art are two subjects that are studied through this specialization.N.S. Pattar is head of the Painting Department at Mahalasa College of Visual Art. The faculties at Painting department includes Syed Asif Ali, B.P.Mohan Kumar, K.T.Nagaraju, Umesh V.M as well as visiting faculty Prashanth K, Ashalatha and Shashi Praveen.
